Interesting article in Deutsche Welle about how it isn’t exactly a walk in the park for black people here in Europe either: George Floyd killing opens racism wounds for European blacks.

There seems to be a common perception among North Americans that, since much of Western Europe is far more progressive about income taxes, universal healthcare, and the like, it must be miles ahead of the US on race relations. A few conversations with some locals here would probably disabuse them of that.

I thought that was one of the interesting threads in the first season of the 13th Doctor, the companions dealing with racism in England.
