The media if it were more tougher would have pounced on Trump from the get go.

Media are for-profit enterprises. Access to Trump means more audience, and hence more that they can charge for advertising, which is their source of revenue.

Still amazing how many people think that the general public are the “customers” and the content they broadcast is the “product”.
