They really seem to have trouble thinking things through.

But there could be one long-term Brexit benefit if the British are aware enough to use it: they have cut off their pool of cheap, easily exploited labor to put in jobs like freight hauling, agriculture, food processing, hospitality, food service, etc. (sound familiar, America?)

Does this mean they are actually going to raise wages and improve working conditions for their domestic work force? Will this mean higher wages to cope with the inevitable rise in prices as they no longer have foreigners willing to work long hours for low wages in awful conditions?

It could even turn out to be a long-term Brexit benefit, but we will have to wait and see how they (fail to) deal with it.
