What I keep worrying about is an actual large-scale terrorist attack, another 9/11 scenario.

Because I don’t see any chance that the right-wing legislators would stand by Obama and show national unity the way that the Democrats did with Bush. I don’t think the haters in the general population would, either. I really doubt he’d get a 90% popularity afterwards. I think they’d attack him immediately for ‘letting it happen’. Neotrutherism would abound.

But wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a failed attempt at a large-scale attack thwarted by

good preparation
smooth operation of some department
successful intelligence gathering
plotters betrayed by someone who doesn’t hate America anymore
or any other reason that could be plausibly credited to Obama?
