CL, You mentioned in your OP emailing the priest. As an Anglican myself I felt I must as well. My words to him were short and simple:

Father Poobalan,

I have read recently of your tribulations as you seek to do the Lord’s work in this world. I wish to thank you and encourage you. I have added you to my personal intentions each day as I pray the daily offices this Lent. By helping all of God’s children pray in they ways they best know you lift all of us up to the Lord.
