I’m getting too old… and cynical.

Given everything about Trump is kayfabe, I have a hard time believing a counsel who works for the Executive branch really will do the job.

I’m not sure he DOES work for the Executive Branch. IOW, if he doesn’t serve ‘at the President’s pleasure’, does he really work for the Executive Branch in the sense you mean?
