Met up with my ex just before Xmas at a music session (we met playing music and were once bandmates) after being broken up for two months.

Saw a side of her that I never, ever encountered. Did not expect her to be warm or welcoming, but not a totally cold and dismissive folk music diva.

Yeah you just sometimes never notice certain things in people when you got on with them. Likewise, you may overlook a great quality because you didn’t get along with someone.
