Exactly. In fact, Article II is pretty specific as to what constitutes a well-regulated militia, no matter how much the gun nuts would like to pretend that the phrase in the 2nd Amendment is vague or meaningless. And the farthest thing from the Founders’ intentions was that the militias would be used as an opposing force to the national government.
