Evidently, according to your statement, it would do more good than harm, add less that it would recover, and at this point less of any oil in the gulf is better.

The bottom line for me on this is that:
The oil will get cleaned up. If it takes two months longer without those ships than it would take with them, it still will get cleaned up, and the effects of the longer time it takes are really short-term, not worth the worry.

It’s more important, IMO, to focus on those decisions that will have extreme and long-term negative effects (_{the moratorium}).
