re: #427 First As Tragedy, Then As Farce

Relegate me to the tinfoil-covered peanut gallery if you insist but I really think it’s cute that so many of you seem to believe there’s a possibility that the 2018 election might result in something other than a GOP landslide. There will never, ever be another legitimate, un-fucked-with election in this country. What you think of as the USA ceased to exist on election day of 2016. There’s no coming back from that.

In other words, you’re saying it’s time to give up. (“Oh, no, I didn’t say QUIT.” Well, yes, that’s exactly what you did say. And many of your spiritual brothers on this site — you know who you are.)

You know, I’ve spent a lot of time and money over the last two years — and I’ll spend more of both before the next election — fighting the good fight to get the traitors out of our government. We’ve had some failures, but also some successes And I don’t I stop by here so a cluster of you can explain why I shouldn’t bother.

It wasn’t this bad in the past, but the whine level has become deafening, and I get enough aggravation elsewhere. Even Dory and Rango pictures aren’t enough to compensate.

So I’ll see you after the midterms. Maybe. Or maybe Charles can implement a much-needed mute button, so you can make one another miserable without poisoning this place for the rest of us.
