I suspect what they “got” is that by saying there were no class A or B felonies, that means there were class C and D felonies. Proof? There was no denial. Of course, even if there was a class C on his record, it most likely means he got into a fight at school or was caught with marijuana. Not exactly a threat to society, but the possibility of a class C felony does sound scary…
Class C could also include Involuntary manslaughter in the first degree, resisting arrest, statutory rape in the second degree, possession of a controlled substance, and theft.
