The craziness of the whole Trump happening sometimes clouds my memories of how crazy the whole Tea Party and anti-Obama religion of the right have been. They have been nuts for quite a while.
If some other candidate were running against HRC I wonder if the poles would be much different. It just seems like the right’s anti-reality mindset will morph into slavish worship of whomever is nominated.

I hate to say it but Hillary would almost certainly be losing to anyone else. Maybe tied with Cruz because he’s so metaphysically repulsive on every conceivable level of analysis. Most of the mainstream media have bent so far backwards normalizing Trump because in their guts they just feel like the GOP deserves the Presidency after eight years of Dem White House control. They’re so far up their own asses trying to act like they understand how things work that it doesn’t even occur to them how they’re going to answer the very pointed questions future historians will have for them. Assuming of course that Trump doesn’t win and we actually get to have future generations of historians.
