I’ve always admired British cops for their ability to deescalate situations while still being able to apprehend their suspects.

By no means is that “cowardice”.

The bobbies have their own share of problems and make their own fair share of messes, but their messes generally aren’t as deadly, because they don’t carry a weapon with the ability to instantly inflict fatal damage as part of their daily duties.
