That’s another thing. I can understand people being considerably armed in places where law enforcement and political stability is lax or where there’s a known conflict area. It’s not like anyone is firing mortars into Kansas nor has the Indiana state legislature gone up in flames.

That’s just it, they forever engage in the fantasy that either the government’s about to start kicking down doors or civilization is about to collapse, and they’ll need all those guns to fight off the barbarian hordes. They like the first scenario more, because they can imagine that it’s liberals that they’ll be fighting a “revolution” against.
