I actually had the opposite happen with McCain. McCain WAS someone I respected but then his actions in the 2008 campaign really disappointed me. He showed that he was wiling to play the same old GOP cynical bullshit games.

I, for my part, actually kinda liked Sarah Palin as a vice-presidential pick… until she opened her mouth and let the word salad spew forth. I had no respect for John McCain (aside from his war service, that is), but I thought Obama was the greater of two evils there for a while.
