He reminds me of some of the ‘past their prime’ judges depicted on Law & Order. They just can’t let go of their power. They stumble around the field like a Brett Favre in a damn Vikings uniform and turn up the asshole factor to help compensate.

Hopefully, as an attorney, lawhawk’s take is correct, in that the judge is being strict to prevent a very high-profile case on his docket from being appealed because of technicalities that he can prevent, but I have my misgivings given what other odd stuff the judge has said and done during this trial.
