I really want to try Georgian wines, because as of right now the Caucuses are the likely candidate for the location that viticulture was developed.

Also, if we could resolve issues with Iran just enough to make vacationing there an option….

We have a couple of wineries in the Finger Lakes that are cultivating some of those Georgian varietials. Check out Dr. Franks and McGregor (or don’t, because I would buy up their stocks instead).

The grapes: Rkatsiteli, Saperavi & Sereksiya Charni. I consider the McGregor Black Russian to be among the best wines in the Finger Lakes hands down. The Dr. Franks Rkatsiteli is right behind it…
