The actual Irish people and Irish academics hate it when Irish-Americans do that. They know their history. They know their/our ancestors suffered but they don’t like that being used to tell people who have legitimate gripes to shut up.

Sure, when they arrived, the poorer Irish were shit on. But in a generation or two they’d become officially White.

Blacks stayed black.
