Travel costs are paid for in countries with single-payer healthcare.

They are paid for in this country if you have single-payer healthcare. The VA pays my costs every time I have an appointment. If I need a companion for some reason, they will also pay for my wife. They would pay for tolls if we had tolls in Nebraska. They will pay for meals if the appointment goes too long.

This should be the standard for everyone, not just people who tote guns around in the desert or sail on Haze Grey Cruise Line.
