That’s a seriously overblown story as the purported cure is most likely a fluke of a stem cell therapy, chemotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant and the specific circumstances of the patient’s genetics. Instead of taking retrovirals, the guy now takes the anti-rejection drugs. It’s a time consuming and costly procedure that may eventually lead to other treatment paths, but it isn’t the breakthrough that some headlines were screaming.
