I’m starting to take seriously the theory that the GOP is moving fast on this bill so it will die quickly. Then they can say they tried to repeal Obamacare and move on to their real passion, tax reform. The Democrats painstakingly laid the groundwork for healthcare reform and negotiated with all the stakeholders and even the GOP in a laborious process. The GOP just slapped something together and made zero effort to get anyone on board, and as a result everyone hates it. That is either gross incompetence or deliberate.

Only problem with that theory? Senator Yertle just came out this weekend saying that Congress wouldn’t tackle tax reform before their August recess. If you think that’s implausible, take this into mind: Congress has only scheduled 8 working days next month.
