re: #276 lawhawk

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Trump’s busy backtracking and lying his ass off (I know, it’s a day ending in Y).

He’s got to do something to avoid getting Omaroasted (can’t take credit for that) with yet more tapes showing that after she got fired from the WH, the Trump campaign wanted her to work with the campaign for $15k a month to keep quiet.

Yeah, this is one huge grift and con. But she had the receipts. They’re all fucking corrupt.

But what’s the latest lies and backtracking?

It’s that the idiot’s idea of a parade turned out to cost nearly $100 million (or like 10x Trump’s claimed costs - which were still too damned high for a vanity show). He wants to blame DC for the costs, when the reality is that it takes a shit-ton of logistics and planning to get military assets and resources to appear in a parade. It undermines military readiness as assets are out of place should they be needed, and it diverts critical resources.

But Trump wants his vanity parade. The Pentagon punted, hoping they’ll never have to do it.

So Trump’s now claiming there’ll be a parade at Andrews and then another one in November in France to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of the War to End All Wars™. He’s such a buffoon that he thinks the parades are for him.

Even as he and the GOP shit all over veterans and are looking to gut health coverage and mental health coverage, he wants the money not spent on the parade to go buy planes.

The parade would cost about $100 million.

A brand new F-35 would cost: about $100 million. In other words, you might get a single plane (except acquisitions are paid for from different accounts than operations, like his idiotic parade). He doesn’t have a clue what anything costs, and then rails when the costs are high.

He’s a threat to the nation, and the GOP loves it because while Trump gets the attention, they’re busy gutting the safety net and undermining public health and the regulatory apparatus that keeps polluters in check, attempts to stop companies from screwing employees and customers, and protects people from predatory lenders.

Trump is having a very bad day. Three black women are stealing all his headlines.
