I don’t doubt it but I’m afraid Franken made this mess himself.

As another old woman, here’s the thing… I have known so many men like Franken. They’re generally playful huggers, kissers, and fanny patters in relaxed social settings. Go too far? Yeah, a little too friendly and close sometimes but harm is never intended, no threat is implied, and most of us women just step away and laugh. I honestly believe that Franken is horrified by this now because no one ever expressed to him that he was doing anything wrong. Women don’t tell them. We just don’t for a myriad of reasons.

I believe Franken is not only getting a serious education but that as a result he can be an even greater ally to women that he already is now.
