It’s all about the ratings, and of course, ratings = $$$. If they were report, “And in 2016 Election news, Donald Trump continues to have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting elected as President, and political analysts of all stripes are predicting a debacle for the GOP this November”, well…..no one’s really going to be interested in watching. Thus, the horse-race narrative.

I think that’s true most years. However, this year I think the explosion of a major candidate is at least as compelling as the standard horse race story.
