The issue is that lying only goes so far. Even Conservatives will notice if they don’t have healthcare anymore. I try not to be paranoid, but it’s as if the Republicans don’t plan to need to win elections anymore.

I think it’s two things: they think they can keep rigging elections, and McConnell believes that if they get this passed, it will take at least a decade to fix it. For starters, even if they lose control of the Senate next year, they will still have enough power to stop Democrats from doing anything big.
