Gah, I’d wager to say that the new open carry law isn’t helping. Yes, I realize that the law is for handguns in holsters, but it still contributes to a certain wild west mentality, IMO. That was okay back in the day when the West really was wild and mostly lawless, but now you have urban areas with millions of people and large paramilitary police forces. It’s just… a recipe for disaster.
