I don’t get out anywhere near as much as I used to, so my circle of friends has shrunk quite a bit.

First thing I do on FB every day is to go through and delete all the political postings, be they pro or anti-Trump. If I wanna discuss politics, I come to blogsites like this one. And I have unfriended or blocked a few people who just would not let up with the politicking there.

Getting this back to politics and our society - I’ve seen folk I know become Trumpers and they willfully blinded themselves to Trump’s overt bigotry and sexism. When something like this happens, I believe we are just looking at a symptom of a deep problem, of a person who is actively seeking to escape the real world.

People are fed up with politicians and politics as usual. Trump and the GOP managed to successfully sell themselves as the anti-politicians and anti-government party.

I am also convinced that we are paying for all the cuts we made in basic education dating back to Reaganism in the 80’s…a lot of people seem totally clueless on basic issues like civics, government, media, science or history.
