Social media had nothing to do with Iraq, traditional media failed on that and failed at the 2016 campaign. Ironically many of these were print and online which you seem to implicitly grant your consumption to. Although you do get news from those other icky places by virtue of coming here.

But at times it is relevant to the national political discourse - for better or worse.

And I am selective about print and Internet media and try to consume multiple sources and to do so critically and comparatively.

Iraq was another matter entirely, that is true, and the way our media fawned over the President and feared doing or saying things critical of him for fear of being seen as unpatriotic or even traitorous was truly sad.
