I wonder if the Trumperati are trying to shock the opposition so badly that they will be paralyzed into inaction? The idea would be to allow the fascist state to advance unhindered for a while. By the time the opposition recovers it wits, it would be too late.

If so, it isn’t working but I wouldn’t put it past them to be trying such a thing.
