And they’re only doing it because they want to sit in their congressional seats for as long as they can. Situations like this are why I was in favor of congressional term limits long ago.

California has term limits for its’ legislators. All term limits did was cede power to lobbyists and erase institutional memory of how to draft and pass legislation.
