NET became CPB and PBS, and more corporatized as a result. Even so, the successors to NET have managed to create some winning programming, like Reading Rainbow, Sesame Street, and a whole slew of historical, cultural, current affairs and musical programming. There is less didactic education, such as the movie here, which we can argue is a good (or bad) thing till the cows come home.
