I wanted to fly fighter jets.

The guy at the recruiting office told me that while there would eventually be women in that speciality, possibly even soon enough that I’d still be within the age limits… but there was no way in hell they would ever ever EVER take someone who wears glasses. Totally out of the question.

Then he tried to talk me into enlisting if they could put me in aircraft maintenance/mechanic training. Because sometimes the pilots will take the mechanics up….

I decided not to join the military, and took flight training in a cute little Cessna. It’s not as expensive as you might think.

[whine] I have a lifetime ban from flying any aircraft due to epilepsy. [/whine]

I’m not even allowed to fix ‘em.
