The whole “women are obligated to uphold purity culture” bullshit is one of my biggest triggers. Its roots are deeply misogynist and come from the basic American Christian nationalist principle that sex is only to be had within marriage, and under no other circumstances. The idea that men are helpless before the Power of Boobs (tm) really just comes down to an insecurity that indulging in one’s fantasy will cause one to burn in Hell for all eternity.
