Just spent an hour cutting a red-headed woodpecker out of the nylon mesh that protects the garden. It would have gone faster if I had something besides dull garden scissors, and if the little bastard had quit pecking me. (His needle-like claws actually did more damage than his beak.) In the end he flew off to a neighbor’s tree to tell his mates how he fought off the big two-legged prick.

Was it a radioactive woodpecker?
