first comment this morning: anybody still making a list of “best 300/1000/n+1 classical recordings to listen to you before you die”? I don’t see an updated penguin list from anytime after 2011, which means, I assume, they probably saw the writing on the wall and realized people weren’t really buying cd’s anymore.

second comment: abortion is not going to create some kind of blue wave in November, because a surprising number of typical democratic voters are ambivalent about it and won’t be driven to the polls over its ban. HOWEVER, there will be at least one senate seat that will get decided over it, and if we’re lucky, it will go our way and possibly give Democrats one more senate seat for the majority than they have now. And IF THAT HAPPENS, look for Build Back Better to return. I suspect the House is hopeless, thanks to gerrymandering, and the never to be underestimated collective stupidity of the American people.
