Chris Christie and Chuck Hagel are Republicans who don’t always agree with the right-wing party line. Neither is passionately dedicated to undermining the President. Each has a streak of independence. Neither puts party entirely before country.

In my opinion, these are admirable qualities. But in the right-wing echo chamber, these qualities are highly offensive.
