“My Dearest Nasruddin,” she wrote to her third son, “You have the good sense to know what your mother likes. The chicken was delicious.”

I could see where this was going to end up; there’s one that was originally told by Jewish comedians, but has been passed around by everyone else about a parrot that “spoke five languages” & the mother says - like in this story - “It was delicious!”

But it doesn’t end there!

The son remonstrates w/his mother: “How could you eat that bird? It cost thousands of dollars! It spoke 5 languages!”

Unperturbed, the mother retorts, “Well, why didn’t it say something?”

Ba-DUMP-dum!
