re: #444 Decatur Deb

If Orca had worked as designed, it would have done little. The TPGOP thinks GOTV starts election week. We were at it months ago, using volunteers while they were paying Sproul to ruin their registration effort.

and also:

Apparently they planned to refocus robo-calls late in the afternoon. Heh.

Bwahahaha! I hope that turns out to be true as well. Never has so much money been spent for so little. Robocalls, honestly. They could have just robocalled all their voters and skipped Orca all together.

In my area, the Dems started (yeah, months ago) by signing up new voters and persuading people to get mail-in ballots. Then we delivered a voting guide to every Dem (and many I’s) to coincide with mail-in ballots being delivered. Then we called everyone who hadn’t voted to remind them to return their ballot or early vote as applicable. Then we delivered vote notes door to door the last three days before the election to remind those who still hadn’t voted to vote and where to go. Then on election day we checked in at the polls twice to cross off voters and call those who still hadn’t voted. Some precincts did some door to door, but we ran out of time.

All of this was volunteer labor. And this was just the Dems - OFA was running its own GOTV in parallel.

The Republicans? Apparently they ran a lot of ads and spent money on software that didn’t work and was pointless if it did. Glad they won’t be running the country.
