Acceptance of a pardon is an admission of guilt. If you accept a pardon (essentially a plea of guilty to the crime pardoned), you lose your V Amendment rights against self-incrimination in regard to the crime pardoned.

If Trump pardons Manafort for suborning perjury and he accepts it, then Manafort can be compelled to testify as to what it was he was trying to subvert.

How? If Trump pardons Manafort for everything, there is no leverage.
