He didn’t get away with quadruple murder. His sentence is completely appropriate to the crime: ten years of probation, meaning ten years of checking in with a parole officer, taking drug tests, etc. He is sentenced to psychiatric rehabilitation, which is completely fitting for an out of control teenager.

The tragedy isn’t that that is the sentence he got, the tragedy is that we can’t do the same for every other non-rich kid; this kid’s family can afford the therapy he needs.

Yeah, if they’re poor and/or black they just go to prison.

You know, like everyone else that kills people and isn’t ultra-wealthy.

Probation is nothing. He ended four lives by driving 30 over the speed limit with a BAC 3 times the legal limit (consuming alcohol being illegal in the first place given his age) and jumped up on valium, and he walked.
