I have a huge amount of respect for what Daniel Ellsberg did to bring out the truth about the Vietnam War - his case was one of the best examples of a whistleblower I can think of.

Unfortunately, I strongly disagree with him on Snowden. The cases are not even close to equivalent, and Ellsberg doesn’t get some kind of magical ability to bestow whistleblower-hood on other people just because of his history. He did a great thing he can always be proud of, but he’s sadly over the top on this issue.
