I have a friend on another site who is in full-on “blame Obama for not compromising with the Republicans” mode. It’s rather funny because even some friends from Australia are pointing out exactly how ridiculous his argument is.

I’d ask what is there really left to compromise? Okay, they got their sequester. Obama agreed to do much more spending cuts than tax raises on the very wealthy. The whole ACA legislation that they hate has compromises to them too. Obama wasn’t elected to just bend over and say “Thank you sir may I have another” whenever the Republicans throw a fit which has been pretty much every day of his presidency. And furthermore, the Republicans should compromise too. They haven’t sown any willingness at all to compromise with him especially the fringe loons that Boehner lets control him.
