They want to be ruled by a strong authoritarian leader while at the same time wishing to rule over others they view as “less worthy” in the same fashion.

Not surprising, considering their ideological predecessors swooned over Hitler and how he was such a great man for rebuilding Germany while FDR was engaging in “socialism” to combat the Great Depression. It’s why they started the meme, which their descendents adopted, that it took WWII to drag America out of the Depression.
