Yes, very true. Those were all excellent films.

When it comes to reboots, I liked J.J. Abrams’ idea of rebooting the Star Trek franchise by placing it in an alternate timeline. It allows the writers to have the freedom to explore new ideas and storylines without being constrained by the original continuity.

That being said, my disappointment (for lack of a better term) is that I want to see new Star Trek stories set in a future timeline after Star Trek: The Next Generation/Deep Space Nine. A new series, set….let’s say…..150 years or more after the events of that timeline. Star Trek has always been about the future. They need to start thinking about that instead of prequels or further reboots.
