The ABA typically looks at the work that a nominee has done. They don’t really look at ideology. Or even things outside of the practice of law or work on the bench. The GOP attacks on the ABA ratings started years ago because they rated someone (I want to say Thomas, maybe) as “not not qualified”.

Right, that’s why while I don’t dismiss them, they won’t be my final factor. I definitely factor in qualifications though obviously.
