No, if we take proper action now, we can avert it. Happy, for me, is was and always will be for me people saying:

1. I get that this is far worse than I can comfortably look at.

2. We can stop it.

3. I am doing “x” to help stop it.

Be happy, LVQ. All the feasible bulbs in my house are CFC, all my “ghost” electronics are zeroed by power strips, all my windows are argon-filled, since December I’ve nailed 3000 sq ft of energy star shingles to the roof, and I’m 1/3 the way through installing R40+ insulation in the attic. Our power is on a net with a nuke 30 miles away. (I do drive an inefficient truck, but its 37 yrs old, and thus has prevented the embedded carbon of producing about 6 replacements).

Cost savings and tax breaks have as much to do with this as listening to my tree-hugging kids.
