The protesters failed to arm themselves, and I mean with real weapons - rifles, explosives, etc.. In a situation like this, it’s victory or death.

It would seem the protesters chose death.

If they’d brought rifles, the government would have brought T-84 MBTs.

The protesters only real chance was a crisis of indiscipline in the ranks of the Bakrut or the army. That has not happened and since it hasn’t they’re doomed.
