I agree with what you’re saying but Reagaan’s bigotry was more to how he used PoC as scapegoats. Again don’t read what I’m saying as a defense of either him or Dubya but by acting like Trump is no different from his predecessors I think really undercuts the truth about how bad Trump’s been.
Reagan’s whole “welfare queen” and “gangster” view of anything darker than the hue of eggshell white began the current environment of racism (which itself was a transformation of the open bigotry of the white south\Nixon’s southern strategy).
Also about Nixon - Get Me Roger Stone:
Wife and I watched it this weekend. She was aghast there was something that reveled in being a straight up asshole. We also came to the conclusion by looking at Roger that he does not have a frontal cortex. That dude’s head is beyond deformed. My wife tells me (as she was in the medical field before she became a teacher) that the skull shapes brain development and thus this guy has no empathy, compassion, care, love etc and he doesn’t care who he hurts or what he destroys to get what he wants.
