Your argument also implies that Hillary Clinton was a bad choice for a candidate. If the Democratic Party knew that (“the congregation would walk out atheists”) then how about a different candidate?

Sometimes the man or woman you want for an office is unelectable just because. Is it fair to Hillary Clinton that the GOP has been bashing her for thirty plus years? Certainly not. But politics is not a nice game and never has been in this country.
