Yup. The thing is, most of these “if only they had a gun” incidents would have turned out no different if the victims had guns. Criminals almost always have the element of surprise. Imagine if this guy found even more guns in these cars…

If only we had a good study on the matter. But we don’t, so we don’t really know how that plays out. All the existing studies have been done by advocates-From pro gun CATO to anti gun HCI. More loyal to the cause than the facts. But it’s really easy to find instances of car jacking stopped by a gun. I found a bunch where off duty cops intervened successfully. An off duty cop is pragmatically the same as a reasonably well trained CCW civilian.
